Started rugby at the age of three. Born in Tsuruta Elementary School, Minami-ku, Fukuoka. From the 4th to 6th grades of the elementary school, he devoted himself to soccer and was selected for Fukuoka City. He belonged to the soccer club and the rugby club when he was a junior high school. Participated in Hanazono for the third consecutive year in Saga Technical High School (all 8 best). Selected as U17 Japan National Team. Entered Waseda University's Faculty of Sport Sciences, Department of Sports Culture, and has been active as a regular fullback since 1 year. Experienced winning national university championships.

In March 2005, he was selected for the Japan National Team [1]. On April 16, 2005, Japan made its debut in the game against Uruguay [2]. In 2002, he won the Kochi National Sports Festival with his older brother, Ryo.

In April 2008, he joined Yamaha Motor Jubilo in the top league with a professional contract, but from 2010, he became an employee of Yamaha Motor. In September 4, 2010 against NEC Green Rockets, he recorded 8 penalty goals, the new top league record in one game [3]. On February 5, 2011, he was the first to receive the Top Scorer (182 points) and Best Kicker (38G / 32PG) for the 2011-2012 season [4]. On January 6, 2012, he won the second time in a row for the second consecutive year [160] and the best kicker (40G / 25PG) for the 2012-2013 season [5].
In 2015, he was selected to represent Japan in the Rugby World Cup 2015 [6]. In this tournament, he participated in 4 group league games and scored 58 points for 1T / 7G / 13PG. In the battle, he was selected for Man of the Match, and after the tournament, he was chosen as the tournament Best Fifteen. On November 4th of the same year, it was announced that it would join the Reds belonging to the Australian super rugby from the 2016 season (however, it will remain a member of the current Yamaha motor) [7].
